It is not a definitive guide to all software programs listed within.
We provide Domain Name Registration and Web Hosting packages and can assist in setting up your website for a moderate fee. Minimum cost for a Budget WebHosting Package including ".com.au" Domain Name is $139.
Content Management System Software Package Now you need some content on your website. We recommend and use Nukedit CMS which is a package designed to make managing your website content much easier. OK. You've downloaded the Nukedit CMS package and made all the changes to some of the key files as detailed in their installation guide. You now need to upload all files to your Web Host provider using an FTP program. The free FTP tool that I recommend is SmartFTP. This can be downloaded from http://www.smartftp.com.
Log into your Website Control Panel (Cpanel, Helm etc.) and add all the email addresses you require and create the database links for Nukedit CMS. Now that you have your website up and running, you need to add content and then when you are done, showcase it to the world. Take your time and do some research, especially when it comes to the descriptions and keywords of each new page that you create. Google & Yahoo Sitemaps - How do I create them? Before you begin to submit your Website to Search Engines, it is important to create a Sitemap. Google and Yahoo offer a free service whereby you are able to submit a single file that contains a list of all the webpages on your website. This will assist the Search Engines in crawling all of your site more effectively. Of course you can specify which pages you don't want to be crawled by creating a "robots.txt" file and placing it in the root directory.
I use the SQL Version of SOFTplus GSiteCrawler Google Sitemap Generator by Johannes Mueller to create my Google Sitemap & Yahoo Sitemap. Download GSiteCrawler from http://johannesmueller.com/gs/.
If you wish to create Google Sitemap's for multiple websites, I recommend you download and install the SQL version of GSiteCrawler. This will overcome possible data corruption when your database reaches 1Gb in size. If you decide to install the SQL version you will first have to install Microsoft's free copy of SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. Visit http://www.microsoft.com/sql/editions/express/default.mspx to download Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
Don't forget to upload your Google & Yahoo Sitemaps to your website using SmartFTP or use the FTP upload tool built right into GSiteCrawler.
Register with Google Sitemaps Google Sitemaps is an easy way for you to submit all your URLs to the Google index and get detailed reports about the visibility of your pages on Google. You can automatically keep Google informed of all changes to your website pages. This helps to improve your coverage in the Google crawl.
Google Sitemaps Sign up: http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/login
Once you have logged into Google Sitemaps, you need to add your website. Select the "Add" tab and enter the URL where the Sitemap file resides (ie. http://www.mobilefonecentral.com/). Once you have verified the Sitemap, Google will download it from your website on a regular basis. I would therefore encourage you to add new content and update your Sitemap regularly.
